The waitlist
When you join the waitlist we store the details you type into the form:
- your email address, and your name if you give it;
- if you are looking for work: the kind of work you do, and your country if you say;
- if you are hiring: your company’s name and website, the roles you hire for, and any note you add;
- when you agreed to this notice, and any campaign tags in the link you followed.
We also keep a one-way, keyed fingerprint of your internet address to stop automated sign-ups. It cannot be turned back into the address, and we never store the address itself.
When you join, we send one email to confirm it, and we email you again when Fairshore opens. If someone else used your address, reply to that email and we’ll remove it.
Your account
When you sign in we store your email address and the side you chose (hiring or looking for work). If you use a password, our sign-in provider (Supabase) stores only a scrambled form of it (a hash), so nobody at Fairshore can read it. If you sign in with GitHub, GitHub tells us your username and public profile; we never see your GitHub password. We also note whether you’ve confirmed your email with a code or link, because we trust a work email only once it’s confirmed.
If you are looking for work, your profile holds what you type into it: your name, what you do, your rate, hours and working time zone, your city and country, your skills, how many other clients you have (if you say), your links, and, if you add them, a photo and a résumé. When you apply, we store your answers to the employer’s questions, your note, and where each application stands.
If you are hiring, we store your name, and your company’s name, website, LinkedIn page, country, time zone, description and logo, your jobs, and your answers to applicants (for example the reason you give when you decline someone). If you pay for Pro, we keep your plan and invoice reference; payment itself goes through Wise.
Messages between an employer and someone they shortlisted are stored so you can both read them. Each one is checked automatically for common scams (like asking for a fee or a move to Telegram). Our team reads a conversation only when a message is flagged or reported.
Who can see what
- Your talent profile, photo and résumé are private. Employers can see them only when you apply to one of their jobs, together with your answers. Your profile is not public and not searchable.
- If an employer shortlists you, you both see each other’s name and email address, so you can set up a call. Until then, neither side sees the other’s email.
- If you withdraw an application, or it closes, that employer no longer sees your profile.
- If you report someone, our team sees who reported; the person reported doesn’t.
- Company profiles are public once verified, because they appear on job posts.
- A small Fairshore team can see accounts to verify companies, check that talent profiles’ links are real, and act on reports of scams. Every such action is logged.
- We do not sell your details or use them for advertising, and we don’t share them with recruiters.
Why we use it
To run Fairshore: to sign you in, to show your profile to employers you apply to, to verify companies, to keep people safe from scams, and to tell you when Fairshore opens. We do not use automated matching or AI on your profile. If we add it, we will update this notice first and you will be able to turn it off.
Cookies
We use one kind of cookie: the one that keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Counting visits
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, to see which pages help people and where visitors come from. For each page view it records the page, the site that sent you, your rough location (country, region and city), and your browser, system and type of device. It uses no cookies: Vercel tells visitors apart with a code made from the request, which it throws away after 24 hours, so a visit can’t be tied to you.
A job page is counted only as “a job page”, never which job, and what you type into search isn’t sent. Admin pages aren’t counted.
The jobs board
The remote jobs we list come from Jobicy, Himalayas and Remote OK. When you click a job you go to that site, and its own privacy policy applies there. We do not track which jobs you open.
Where it is stored and for how long
Your details and files are stored in a secured database and file storage hosted by Supabase. Photos and résumés are only ever shared through links that expire.
Our emails (sign-in codes, password resets and waitlist emails) are sent through Resend, an email delivery service: it receives your email address and the message so it can deliver it. Email you send us is received by Cloudflare and forwarded to our inbox.
- Waitlist details: until Fairshore opens and up to 12 months after, then deleted unless you create an account.
- Accounts: until you ask us to delete yours. We then delete it within 30 days.
- A photo or résumé you remove is deleted straight away.
- Applications, their answers and messages: while both accounts exist, so each side keeps a record of what was sent and answered.
Your rights
Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can change or remove most of it yourself on your profile.
Email hello@faireshore.app and we will reply within 15 days.
