The problem

Right now, both sides lose.

Filipino talent is some of the most sought-after remote talent in the world. The way it gets hired hasn’t caught up.

If you’re Ana, looking for work

Social media manager, Cebu

Nearly half

of the hourly offers we sampled on OnlineJobs.ph started below $5 an hour. Some offered $0.50.1

  • You pay just to be seen.

    10 apply points a day on OnlineJobs.ph. $0.15 per Connect on Upwork.2

  • Then, silence.

No reply, no status, no idea if anyone even looked.

  • And scams everywhere.

The DMW has taken down more than 200,000 illegal recruitment posts since 2020.3

in a single day, as one employer put it in an OnlineJobs.ph testimonial. Which ones are real?4

  • 1 in 4 profiles could be fake.

That’s Gartner’s prediction for candidate profiles worldwide by 2028.5

  • Agencies double the cost.

A 60–100% markup on the worker’s pay is typical. The worker never sees it.6

  • Marketplaces take a cut of every hour.

Fiverr keeps about 28% of what buyers pay. Upwork charges both sides.7

And on global job boards, only about 1 in 20 “remote” jobs is actually open to someone in the Philippines.8

Why we’re building Fairshore

A board where fair is the default.

Not a promise in the fine print. Rules built into every job post and every application.

I’m a Filipino developer, and I’ve been on the talent side of these boards: rationing apply points, sending applications into silence, and scrolling past $3-an-hour offers for skilled work. Employers have the opposite problem, with more applicants than they can check and no way to tell who’s real. Fairshore is the board I wish both sides had.

FAQ

Good questions.

The short version: free for talent, free to post, and nobody takes a cut.

No. Fairshore is a job board. Employers and talent find each other here, and the employer hires the person directly. We don’t employ anyone, manage their work, or take a cut of their pay.

Be one of the first.

Fairshore opens to the waitlist first. Early members help set the rules for a fairer way to hire.

  • First access before the public launch.
  • A founding member badge on your profile or company page, for good.
